ART STONES

The events of this past year have prevented many of us getting out and doing the things we enjoy and we've all had to find new things to interest and occupy us whilst keeping safe.  When Mike wasn't able to get out with his camera as often as he would like, he created "Project Lockdown", the casting and painting of art stones.

Art stones are also known as Mandala or Meditation Stones and are created by painting smooth rocks with intricate patterns of dots.
The art and practice of creating the mandala is also a form of meditation, a soothing ritual that allows the painter to express their creativity and find a sense of calmness.  Mike found that painting the stones was so relaxing that he'd often lose track of time.

Many people use art stones for relaxation or in their meditation practice, immersed in the appealing variety of colour and finding pleasure in the tactile sensations of the stones decorated surface.  They can also be used as colourful house decor.
The stones Mike paints are all hand-cast using only the finest Crystacal R powders.  This produces a stone that is not only very strong but also offers a really fine surface for such intricate decoration.
Each stone is a one-of-a-kind piece of art, painted using only the highest-quality mediums. Each piece is signed and dated on the underside.
After painting, all stones are covered in epoxy resin which provides a smooth, glossy and protective coating.

MEMORY STONES

Sadly, we have all experienced the great sense of loss and upset when a much-loved family pet passes away. A Memory Stone allows us to remember these missed friends every time we see it.
Memory stones are made with a design on the top and a short hand written inscription around the sides. The choice of wording is all yours.

TEA LIGHT HOLDERS

There's nothing better than sitting out in your own garden with the warm glow of a tea light for company.  Tea light holders are available in a number of different styles, colours and designs. Each holder comes complete with a tea light.  As with all the other stones, tea light holders can also be hand painted with your own choice of design and colours.

BLANK STONES

Blank, unpainted stones can be bought from Mike's stock with prices starting from as little as £3.65 plus the cost of postage.
By choosing a blank stone, you are free to decorate it in any style or colour you choose. Acrylic paints are particularly suitable for this. You'll also get to enjoy the really great feeling of relaxation as you create your own unique artwork.

MANDALA SUPPORT TABLE - STEP BY STEP GUIDE

One of the main challenges people face when decorating stones is being able to turn the stone without smudging the wet dots already applied. To help with this Mike designed and created his Mandala Support Table. The table holds the stone between two pivots that allow it to rotate freely, enabling the stone to be turned easily and without smudging.  The Mandala Support Table was very well received by the dotting community, and generated such interest that Mike made his step-by-step guide available so that others could make their own support tables.
Mike's Mandala Support Table step-by-step guide is available for the small donation of £2.50 (via PayPal) by clicking on the ‘Buy Now’ button below.
The guide will be sent to you by email as a pdf document to the email address shown on your Paypal transaction.
